WARNING: ELECTRICAL HEATING SYSTEMS EMPLOY HAZARDOUS ELECTRICAL ENERGY! Always

Follow the equipment manufacturer’s safety and maintenance Procedures. Please read instructions
to insure proper installation. System damage or personal injury can result if instructions
are not followed.

ATTENTION: THIS REPLACEMENT COIL IS INTENDED FOR USE IN HIGH VELOCITY FORCED AIR HEATING SYSTEMS;
ANY OTHER USE MAY BE HAZARDOUS AND WILL VOID ANY WARRANTY!

1. Turn off all electrical power to the device being repaired. The device may have more than one circuit: Also
disconnect power to condensing unit and accessories. Check with a volt meter before proceeding.

2. Disconnect all electrical connections to the unit.

3. Remove the heater for ease of assembly, and disconnect the defective coil at the heater plate and
remove.

4. Check the unit for damaged insulators and replace them when necessary.

5. Verify that the voltage and wattage on unit and repair kit are correct.

6. Handle the new element with clean, dry, and oil-free hands to prevent premature failure.

7. Stretch the replacement coil to the exact length of the original coil (normally 2–5 times the stretched length) taking care not to damage the resistance wire or overstretch the coil. Stretch by hand from the terminal ends
of the element coil. The coil should be stretched at least 1.5 times the stretched length and no more than
6 times the stretched length; if this is not the case, you may have the incorrect replacement coil.

8. Feed element wire through or onto the ceramic insulators; check to insure
uniform tension and fasten bolt or connector to the plate.
Replacement elements must pass through or attach to all insulators in the pattern as the original-The replacement
coil must not have sags or, irregular variations between insulators.

IMPORTANT: inspect the coil assembly for a minimum of 3/8” spacing between the coil and any frame or unit
member. Make sure all the ceramic supports, fuses, or thermostats are in their original positions.

9. After the element has been properly assembled, check the wiring diagram of the unit to insure proper electrical
connection before restoring electrical power.
